Introduction
Bill Fuehring passed from our midst in
October, 2006, only in body. His spirit lives on in many, many ways. One
of these ways is on display at the museum he founded on
Southwest St. in Bellevue, Ohio. He was the spark that kindled the fire
in 75, he was the fireman that stoked the fire for 32 years and he was
the visionary who left behind a bed of hot coals in the firebox, hot
enough to burn in the hearts of many, hot enough to burn for a long time
to come. The MR & NKP RR Museum Board of Directors correctly
recognized this and decided to re-dedicate the museum he founded in his
honor. A handsome bronze plaque was cast, to be placed prominently at the
museum for all to see. As a side note, there was
a slight mis-spelling on the first one delivered so it had to be
done over, all 155 pounds of it. As Bill was known nationwide for "Fuehringisms"
and known no where for his spelling ability, this seems almost divinely
inspired.
