Rededication Of The Museum To William "Bill" Fuehring

BILL FUEHRING has been on hand for several years as a working switch engine in the Coach Yard, spotted at York St. This engine really needed to be closer to the festivities so it cleared itself a path, the old Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Main line adjacent to Nickel Plate Drive, to access Southwest St.

THE BILL FUEHRING could now have a front row seat at the bumper opposite the museum proper. Fitting. And then, Rollie Jordan died. Rollie was a long time member, BOD member, supporter of the museum, active volunteer and Friend of Bill. Rollie owned a switch engine himself, THE NUMBER  2.

Just before Rollie died, THE NUMBER 2 was repainted to a really good-looking solid black finish. So, THE BILL FUEHRING and THE NUMBER 2 locked couplers and together, silently, bore witness as the museum re-dedication moved into the crescendo phase.

Thursday evening, June 19, 2008, about supper time, the NS Business car train rolled into Bellevue NS Yard, track B 1 from it's base in Altoona Pa. It consisted of Executive F units, 4270- 4276- 4271, Business Cars PENNSYLVANIA and ALABAMA, Diner GENERAL WILLIAM MAHONE, Business Car WEST VIRGINA and Observation/Theater Car BUENA VISTA. The whole train appeared spit shined Tuscan Red and Gold in the evening sun. Simply put, this is the prettiest train on any railroad east of the Mississippi River. It was still hard to believe that this was really true so a closer inspection needed be made and
