From: Ruth Fuehring

Sadly, we must report the passing of Ray VanBlarcum on July 16, 2009. Ray and his wife Linnea were long-time members and quite active in the society for years. Ray is a former President and Trustee of the society and had been active on several committees, working on numerous projects. He, along with Linnea represented us at the Ohio Rail Passenger Association meetings for several years, he was one of the pivotal members of the 25th Anniversary Committee in 2001and the Rededication Committee in 2008, just to name a few. Ray had been ill for quite some time and unable to participate in anything since the rededication. He was an avid modeler and rail historian.

Ray loved to travel, especially if a train was involved, usually clad in a Mad River hat. Spreading the word about our museum was as natural as breathing to him. His calm demeanor and thoughtful ideas and advice will be missed.

Our sympathies go out to Linnea and their family.
