Current Events

By Ruth Fuehring

Join us for our monthly meetings on the last Wednesday of each month except March, September, November and December. In March we have our annual membership meeting with election of officers and trustees, the September meeting is replaced with a members pot-luck picnic, this year on Saturday, Sept 19, and the November and December meetings are combined at a pot-luck Christmas dinner. These meetings are held on a Saturday, look for the dates on our calendar and in this newsletter. I'm trying to make sure we have a program at each meeting which will be interesting and informative for everyone.

Some examples of programs we've had this year are: Denny Brandal with slides and stories of the early years at the museum, Charlie Wise on the history of the Mad River Railroad, Dome Car Magic, Jim Andrews doing a chalk talk titled "God Bless America." By the time you recieve this newsletter we will have had at the July meeting, a program by Noel Arnold from Norwalk relating his memories of serving in a railroad batallion during World War II.

If anyone has an idea for a program, please notify me and I'll try to follow up on it, my ideas are pretty limited, but I think it's important to keep the interest going. You can write to me in care of the museum, mark to the attention of Ruth Fuehring or call me at 419-483-6235.
