While on vacation last week I had a chance to visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, which is about 25 minutes from the cruise ship docks south of Miami.Fl. It boasts the Presidential rail car "Ferdinand Magellan"; and the southernmost steam locomotives in the U.S. They offer rides on a GP-7 engine, and a short narrow gage live steam train. They are hosting Thomas the train this weekend. Unfortunately their web site is currently down, but check it out when it comes back up. It is a great little museum. If you are in south Florida stop and check it out. http://www.gcrm.org/. Dale Owens - Newsletter Editor |
