BOD Meeting Notes -
December 08

  • Dave Robinson presented information for the project to "close in" the Monument Station north side train display area. The goal of the project is give a more finished look to the museum building. The bid(s) should be due back by January 14th. Dave will also pursue some grant money that may be available to help pay for the project.
  • A motion to move forward with getting bids was approved.
  • The #7 car needs to be cleaned to make sure no valuable items get lost during its time at Carl Nourse's place. The brakes need to be fixed and the work is under way.

    BOD Meeting Notes -
    January 09

  • Dave Robinson presented the bids for the work to be completed on the monument station. A motion was made and approved to award the work to A.V. Lake.
  • Cleaning the #7 car was completed and valuable items removed.
  • The Ken Benton Family donated 150 - 200 railroad books.
  • The BOD approved the partial payment of a new computer for the VP (Chris Beamer) to use.
  • There is a guard shack donated by Armstrong that could be used for a viewing stand. It still needs to be moved.
  • The museum is hosting the 2010 NKP convention. Chris Beamer is chairing the committee, and is looking for members. Please contact him if you are interested.

  • Join us for a delightful "Dinner in the Diner"

    Mark April 25th on your calendar.

    Authentic railroad diner recipes will be served in the museum's dining car by society members in the true old-fashioned style of the glamorous days of the "Golden Age of Railroading".

    Remember, "Nothing could be finer than dinner in the diner".

    Time and Date:

    April 25th, 5pm with a second seating at 7:30 pm if sales are sufficient.

    Each table seats 4, if your party consists of fewer than 4, you will be seated with others. Seating will be assigned at time of ticketing NOTE: Please be aware that due to its historical nature this equipment is NOT handicap accessible.

    Entree choices are as follows:
    1) Sauté of Chicken Breast A La Marengo (Pullman Co. recipe) with Potatoes Romanoff (Illinois Central recipe)
    2) Florida Shrimp Creole (The Seaboard Air Line Rwy recipe) served over rice.
    3) Slow-Braised Swiss Steak (Wabash Railroad) with Potatoes Romanoff

    All meals served with salad, vegetable, bread & butter, dessert, coffee and tea.
