Faces - of Museums Spring Opening - Once again spring has sprung, and the doors of the museum are open for visitors. Also once again the local Boy Scout Troop has come to our aid and spent several weekends helping us to clean up the museum grounds and cleaning out cars and buildings. Many thanks to them, their leaders and the ready & faithful museum volunteers who braved a few cold Saturday mornings to clean things up. |

In the picture to the left, the Boy Scouts take a well-deserved lunch break. Renowned Chef Dave Robinson serves up his famous charcoal roasted "Tube Steaks" served with potato chips and fresh liquid refreshments. Without the hard work of the Boy Scouts, we would have a very difficult time getting the museum ready for the season. |

With the opening of the museum for the season, also comes the plea from the Gift Shop Manager Patti Gray for volunteers to help. If you're a real "People Person" and would like to get out once a week, or so, please consider volunteering at the Trackside Gifts. Our two "Old Faithfuls" would like to scale back (they each volunteered once a week), so we are in need of several new volunteers. With a group of four or more volunteers, you'd only have to work twice a month. Please call and leave me a message at the museum number answering machine (419) 483-2222 -Thanks Patti Gray
I know we are always asking for volunteers and people probably get tired of hearing about it. But just a reminder |
that we are not funded by any government agency, and we don't have big corporate endowments. We survive year by year, by the good graces of volunteers, and a few bequeaths we occasionally get. Just keeping the equipment painted is a major cost each year. We try to keep the entrance fees low so that as many people as possible can afford to bring their families for an afternoon of fun. That will be especially important this year. From the BOD we appreciate any time or money you can give. Have a good summer and visit your museum often.
