The kitchen crew consisted of our Chef, Phil, his mother Janet, Patsy Beamer and me. Then Mike Beamer was observent enough to see we needed some more help and he pitched in. Dean Meese hauled many gallons of water for us, he even rigged up a water hauling wagon. Dave and Bud Kryling were available for tours after dinner. All in all it was a very successful evening and the committee members have ideas to make more improvements at future events.

The Board of Trustees has agreed that heating and air conditioning will be installed, along with more electrical updates. These additions will benefit both the diner and the Silver Dome car, making them useful for many purposes. We would like to make them available for meetings, luncheons, dinners and private parties to the general public, thus generating income. The dining car is very well equipped with crisp white linens, china, silverware, etc. We have plans to make improvements in the kitchen, allowing us more versatility in preparing and serving meals.

I hope I have listed everyone who helped, but fear I may have missed someone. If so, please except my deep apologies, I'd like to express my deep gratitude for everyone's help. Doing these dinners has been a long time dream of mine. Thanks for helping make it happen.

On May 2, 2009 The Annual Train Day was held at the Amtrak station in Toledo, Oh. The day was gorgeous and attended by the hundreds of people

The museum was represented by Dick and Dianne Stevens. We offered 2 family passes to the museum that were won by Frank Kasriteze of Toledo and Nancy Smith of Perrysburg, Oh. Our display seemed to be enjoyed by everyone that passed by.
