Mad River's Summer Block Party - July 24, 2010

The Events committee promised to come up with an event this summer that will bring crowds to the museum and be a good fund-raiser.

We are hosting this party on the museum grounds and believe it can be a huge success with the help of some of our members. We will have a wings-cookoff, a wings eating contest, live entertainment, games for the children, a beer tent, vendors of all sorts and it's sure to be a fun day for one and all, this is a family event.

We do need your help and ask that you contact Ruth Fuehring (419-483-6235) if you're willing to help. We need both young and older volunteers, some positions will require moving around a bit, however, some others will allow you to be seated. We will break up the time into shifts so that you won't have to work the entire time, we're thinking 3 hour shifts would be a good idea. We would love to have some teenagers to help with children's games, sales and possibly in other areas. We will need help with admissions, checking ID's, parking attendants, bathroom attendants, trash-pick-ups (possibly using the museum's riding mower and little trailer), help with set-up and clean-up, volunteers to work in the beer tent, volunteers to keep an eye on the area (near beer tent) where entertainment is (wiping off tables, making sure trash is placed in containers, etc.), help in the food booth we are having, coordinator of the children's games, ticket sales for games, raffle ticket sales, photographer's & persons to print off the pictures, etc.

PLEASE help us if at all possible. We are hoping to make something like this an annual event, much the way the car show has become. Bringing people to the museum, letting them know we're a viable part of the community and raising funds to help us save the past for future generations.
