Faces - of the Museum

From the spring clean up to hanging the holiday decorations the BOD, active members and other volunteers like the Boy Scouts and those non members that worked the car show, we have all made 2008 a successful year at the Mad River and NKP Rail Road Museum.

During the year we had many pieces of equipment painted.

Including:

  • The Nickel Plate Box Car
  • Milwaukee Engine
  • Porter # 7 Steam Engine
  • Green Switch Engine
  • Observation Tower
  • Wood Reefer ( Yellow)

  • Milwaukee & Wheeling Box Car roofs
  • And the Pennsylvania pusher

Other projects included painting and repairing hand rails and walkways, door replacements, the gift shop total remodel, and the Monument Station window replacements. According to some long time members the museum has never looked better, and we all have a lot to be proud of.

The museum also contributed to community events like the Farmers Market and the safe Halloween with a visit by more than a hundred little ghosts and goblins to receive treats from local service organizations and businesses.

Next spring make sure to stop in to see the new displays that Tim Tester, and Dean Meese worked on, in the display car behind the Porter engine.
