July 9th BOD Meeting Notes
- The
BOD has sent final notice to one of the owners of a passenger car, which
is severely delinquent in payment for storage fees. If not paid by Oct 1
it will revert back to the museum.
- Papers
have been signed to go ahead and paint the Monument Station and Welcome
Center.
- Five
windows on the south side of the Monument Station have been approved by
the state (grant) for replacement.
- The
BOD approved reimbursement for Patti Gray to attend a seminar on tourism
at the Hayes Presidential Center on July 10th. Ruth Fuehring
made several proposals on getting people involved, which resulted in, a
motion, seconded and approved to start an events committee.
- Mike
Todd reported the museum sign at Seven Limers is in very bad shape and
needs to be replaced. Mike also purchased two copies (DVDs) of Steam
Train Murray, King Of The Hobos. One copy is in the Library & the
other is in the Welcome Center.
- Dennis
Brandel - Reported the Ohio State Senate passed a proclamation honoring
the museum for the rededication
- He
also suggested we consider an alarm system for the Gift Shop & Freight
house.
- Dennis
suggested "Engineer For an Hour" in the coach yard as a possible
fundraiser.

I don't do a lot of web "surfing" but I was looking for pictures of train
depots. I found this site called Depot Maps.com http://www.depotmaps.com/. It is dedicated to the surviving depots in
the US. They have over 1,450 depot pictures.

August 13th
BOD Meeting Notes
- David
Robinson- Depot roof is replaced, Welcome center (painting) is
completed, NKP Box car is painted, and the Plymouth engine is painted.
Other projects are nearing completion.
- SS
Johnson has donated $2,500 to use as we need to.
- The
Brooks engine bids were disclosed, and the high bid by Symans, Davis
Sprague was voted on and accepted by the BOD. The sale has since been
completed. The engine is to be off the property by 5/1/09. The sale
takes the engine back to its home in New York state. More to come in an

- BOD
approved painting the iron under the Watchman's tower.

Fall Camporee
Dianne Stevens reports the group picnic on Sept 20th
The museum
annual picnic was held at the museum shelter house
with 24 members and families attending. Delicious roast
beef sandwiches and hot dogs were served. A great variety of good
food was brought and enjoyed by all. Vickey Stevens won the adult door prize.
The Jordon family won the childrens door prize. Several mums were also
awarded.
