Moving to its New Home
Two and one half years of effort was culminated on Wednesday, December 22, in Bellevue, Ohio as SD9m, NS 52, formerly NKP 349 was delivered to it's new home at the Mad River & NKP Railroad Society Coach Yard. The locomotive was donated to the museum by the Norfolk Southern Railway in memory of former Bellevue Terminal Superintendent Dale Elder and plans are to restore it to it's NKP livery. It will join NKP locos Alco RSD12 #329 and EMD GP30 #900 already in the collection. Interestingly the 50 year-old technology was delivered by the new era genset NS #3850.
